Uploaded the package, created all the directories, then went to edit, put the password in and got this error.
Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /home1/client/public_html/sitecake/2.4.10/vendor/league/flysystem/src/Util/MimeType.php on line 26
Now it seems to be stuck there. Any thoughts? I’m a sitecake noob. Thanks!
Either your server is slow or you have too many files for Sitecake to process.
Anyway, you need to increase execution time.

Thanks! I’ll give it a go. The site used to be a joomla site; I was able to mostly disentangle it from there, but there are still some directories around. Could that be why?
Most likely. Please delete all unnecessary files. Often people leave Wordpress or some other CMS files around and Sitecake just can’t make sense of all these files.
