Internal Server Error 500 (Round 2!)

Hey,

So I was previously getting Internal Server errors when visiting admin.php on my clients’ websites (I’m using the whitelabel version), but I fixed it by upgrading PHP. Now it’s not working again, and I’m getting the following in the error log:

[Wed Jan 24 15:02:16 2018] [error] [client 10.80.1.178] PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING or ‘(’ in /home/williamgrand/public_html/freetraining/sitecake/2.4.7/src/app.php on line 8

I’ve contacted my hosting company and they’ve said it’s a coding error within Sitecake. I haven’t edited any files as I’m not a coder.

Any idea how to fix this?

Thanks,

  • James.

Sounds like there is still problem with PHP version. Try to go to yourdomain.com/sitecake/2.4.7/config/check.php
From error above, it seems your version is lower than 5.3 and Sitecake requires at least 5.6
